An internal communications campaign to emphasise the importance of staff understanding their tenants’ needs

Riverside: Equality and Diversity

Riverside sought an internal communications campaign to emphasise the importance of staff understanding their tenants' needs in order to provide a better, more personalised service.

The organisation aimed to highlight the diversity of its tenants by explaining the recognised seven strands of diversity - gender, religion, age, disability, ethnicity, sexuality and transgender - and promote how staff may be required to tailor their services in light of these.

We developed a set of icons to aid visual recognition of the strands and used these across information leaflets and interactive PDFs, giant foamboard installations and posters for use within the organisation. We also designed and built an online 'diversity quiz' for staff members to test their knowledge of the strands and how it may impact on their communications with tenants.
