"The pop-up park proposal was a big ask; it needed to be delivered to extremely short timescales, within budget and to a high quality. The Creative Concern team not only met these requirements but your approach also ensured that we were kept fully engaged & consulted at each stage; from initial design concept through to implementation. The result was a well-executed successful project which met the design brief."

Stockport's pop-up park
We were commissioned by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council to design and create a pop-up park. The idea behind it was to illustrate their ambitious £900m ‘Investing in Stockport’ growth programme of regeneration projects for the town centre. Working with Groundwork, and with a challenging budget, we created a visually engaging temporary park outside the Merseyview Shopping Centre, where it lived for three months.
The park, which was maintained by Millar Landscapes, soon became an attraction in the town centre as an area to sit and relax for shoppers. It also created media interest and highlighted the forthcoming expansion of the town centre. Now disassembled, all elements of the park have gone to schools and charities in the town.
