#BuildingLife is a project led by WorldGBC, and driven by 12 Green Building Councils (GBCs): Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK. The project is working to deliver on the European Green Deal aim of a climate neutral Europe by 2050 by working to eliminate both the operational and embodied carbon – ‘Whole Life Carbon’ (WLC) – impact of buildings.
In 2019, we created the campaign design system for the WGBC annual campaign. The new look incorporated a series of architectural shapes that created impact without referencing a particular building style or vernacular, in order to elucidate and illuminate the six stages in the lifecycle of any half-decent building: produce; design; use; build, deconstruct and re-use.
Since then, the campaign's look and feel has been seamlessly adapted and implemented across various formats, platforms, and languages.
We were commissioned to evolve our campaign design system into a cohesive brand identity, providing clear guidance on applying toolkit elements to maintain consistency across all networks. This included developing a logotype, refining the colour palette, updating the iconography and creating a flexible Canva toolkit accessible across all GBC platforms.
