Co-operatives UK: Big Clean

A fresh look at Co-operatives Fortnight

Co-operatives UK had been running their Co-operative Fortnight since 2011. They came to us to refresh the event, get more people involved and spread the word about the size and scope of co-operatives in the UK.

In 2016, Co-operatives Fortnight encouraged its members to join in The Big Co-op Clean, a new dimension to the Fortnight that aims to encourage stakeholders to join together and commit to a collective clean up in their local community. It could be as large as a mass litter pick or as small as cleaning out cupboards and donating food to a local food bank. We developed a unifying brand and campaign for The Big Clean that could connect to all co-operatives, regardless of the sector they worked in.

The result was a sharable mini-film of all kinds of gloves joining together to get the job done. We also designed campaign posters, postcards, leaflets and stickers, alongside a short film designed for social media use.

127 Big Co-op cleans took place

3270 people took part

789 square metres covered

7460 bags of rubbish collected

“We’ve used Creative Concern for some of our major campaigns and they’ve always excelled. They take their time to understand what we need, bring great creative ideas and provide excellent design and materials. Highly recommended.”
