International Year of Plant Health

International Year of Plant Health
Celebrating the benefits of healthy plants
Website, animation, design

The Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) designated 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH). We worked with the Forestry Commission and the Defra plant health team to design and develop a Creative Concern Go Live website to  promote and celebrate the benefits of healthy plants.

The International Year of Plant Health aims to raise awareness of how, by protecting plant health, we are protecting the benefits plants provide to all of us, to wildlife, the environment and our economy. The website worked within the brand guidelines for the campaign to create an online platform providing information about the objectives of IYPH and how people can get involved, plus news articles and useful resources.

We developed a supporting animation for use across social media and to summarise the core IYPH messaging. The illustrations from the animation provided a visual language to use across the website. The animation provided some top facts about the importance of healthy plants along with four simple steps that everybody can take to support the IYPH mission of ‘protecting plants, protecting life’.
