The Lakes International Comic Art Festival
Bringing the world of comics to new audiences
Web design/Web development/Film production/Copywriting/Social media campaign/PR and media relations

Lakes International Comic Art Festival takes over the Cumbrian town of Kendal for a weekend each October. It was going well, but what they needed was improved national and international positioning for the festival, alongside a marketing strategy to connect with audiences beyond the traditional comics community.

We were appointed as the Festival’s marketing partner in 2015, and we’ve been raising the profile and attracting audiences ever since. From PR and social media to film and a brand new website, we love being part of this comic art community.

Our work has secured extensive national media attention and we have brought new marketing ideas to fruition including a comic art exhibition that re-imagined the artwork and stories of Beatrix Potter and featured work from both students and famous comic artists.

Oh, you’ll also find a fair few of us in Kendal in October… see you there?

“We have been inundated with gratitude and praise since making our third and, hopefully, last attempt at getting our website right! We have needed a site which is simple and stylish and which fulfils our three main goals of having international appeal, maintaining the interest and loyalty of our existing audiences whilst attracting new audiences too. Until now it has seemed to be a tall order but not for the team at Creative Concern. They have produced a site which is attractive, efficient and which reflects the energy and personality of our festival. Better still it was a pain-free and enjoyable experience.”
