No.3 Circle Square

Bruntwood SciTech
No.3 Circle Square development hoarding
Design and installation

Circle Square, on the former BBC site, is Manchester's newest neighbourhood and sits within the city’s Innovation District. Buildings No.1 and No.2 completed in Spring 2021, and the beautiful Symphony Park, which sits at the centre of the development, is now thriving.

No.3 will mark the completion of this development, and will offer 264,000 square foot of offices, a communal lounge and event venue, and further landscaped green space, Symphony Gardens. Bruntwood SciTech asked us to design and install a development hoarding for the build phase of Building No.3.

The design needed to follow existing the Circle Square brand, and Bruntwood wanted something highly visual and light on messaging and detail – the section along Brancaster Road doesn’t have a pavement and will provide access to the construction site during build, so they wanted to discourage people from  approaching to take a closer look. We worked closely with the client to ensure that the design was bold enough to stand out, but simple enough to bleed into the public realm.

We initially proposed three design routes with varying emphasis on people, technology and green space. Their chosen option is a mix of large graphic flowers with details of tech – the new building will have one of only a few roof gardens in the city, and the high spec office spaces have been designed to attract to tech companies.

No.3 is expected to complete in 2024. More details on Circle Square can be found at https://circlesquaremanchester.com
We're grateful to Ben Crosby at Marshall Print who oversaw production and managed the installation.
