ReFocus campaign & toolkit
Design, copywriting, messaging, animation

We worked with the ReFocus team to develop a campaign and toolkit to help them explain the programme and share successes as the programme evolves.

ReFocus is delivered by a specialist intervention team at Causeway, the charity supporting marginalised and vulnerable people to recover from trauma, protect them from further harm, and help them develop independent and fulfilling lives.

As an early intervention programme, ReFocus acts quickly to challenge early signs of domestic abuse and address perpetrator behaviours through our specialist programme.

The team needed to raise awareness of the programme with professionals working in the sector alongside people who may benefit from early intervention.

Communicating a programme such as ReFocus required a high level of sensitivity to all audiences and an awareness.

The project included copywriting, design and animation to create an easy to use toolkit and guidance for the charity’s in-house designer to deliver the campaign quickly and easily over the long-term.

The campaign needed to feel distinct from other Causeway programmes but still very much part of the brand. We used the existing brand colours and typeface but brought in an illustrative style to show movement towards a different space.

The messaging was also key to the project and our copywriter worked closely with the team to develop a narrative, copyline, call to action and key message to give the campaign a clear and coherent voice.

Because we worked really closely with the client team to fully understand the project and the best way to communicate this to a wider audience including professionals in the sector, the wider social care sector, perpetrators of domestic violence and those that have or who are experiencing domestic abuse.
