Salford Careers Employer Brand

University of Salford
An elevated employer brand for the University of Salford
Design, brand, digital marketing, film,

We were delighted to work with the University of Salford to create their Salford Careers Employer Brand. The brand is used to attract new colleagues, diversity and talent to the organisation. The University of Salford is a place for colleagues to be inspired, connect and thrive, and University of Salford employer brand is a celebration of these values.

At the heart of the brand is people and we were fortunate enough to spend time listening to University of Salford colleagues, photographing them on campus and filming their colleague stories. The brand captures the reasons why Salford is a great place to work and celebrates the diversity of the colleague community.

Our work started with brand proposition workshops to develop the brand idea. Beyond this we crafted the brand messaging and narrative, a lead brand line and a series of big word message statements. Working with photographer Jonathan Keenan we developed a bank of photography and our film team shot and edited over thirty films of colleagues telling their Salford story. A series of brand icons and illustrations were also developed to work alongside the photography.

The brand needed to be super practical for the in-house team to work with and in response we created a series of editable templates for presentations, social media posts and internal documents.

The approach has delivered a unified look to employer communications and has served to elevate the brand across multiple channels.
