We were delighted when Manchester-based tree-planting charity, City of Trees, asked us to support them on the evolution of their brand, having initially supported with their launch almost a decade ago.
To start with, City of Trees were looking for a refreshed vision and narrative to reflect who they are today, how far they have come, and look towards their future ambition. This was revitalised following a few stakeholder workshops. Here's a sample of some of the copy:
We are City of Trees. We plant trees for people; trees to create better, greener places; to boost health and wellbeing; to enhance green skills; and to tackle the climate and biodiversity emergency.
We’re rooted here in Greater Manchester, the place we live and work. We are proud to call the region home and are passionate about making our region even better, one tree at a time.
We then started work on the development of their visual brand. Elevating their previous logo to soften it and allow it to work across social media, and updating their colour palette and brand graphics to allow for more flexible use. This will all help to engage their current volunteers – citizen foresters – and future generations.
